The 2/9 Memorial Plaque Dedication Ceremony was held at 1500 hours on 09 November 2018, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, VA.  Great ceremony and we were honored by the presence of the Deputy Commandant of the Marine Corps for Plans, Policies and Operations, Lieutenant General Brain Beaudreault as our keynote speaker.  Gen. Beaudreault was the Commanding Officer or Golf Company during the Somalia operation in 1992-93.  The ceremony was held inside the museum due to rain but it was a huge success with well over 100 2/9 Marines, family, and friends attending.  Here is the link to photos of the ceremony:

You can save the entire album or an individual photo.  If you want to save an individual photo open the album and as the photo appears right click on it and use the "save image as..." button.  The image below is NOT the official plaque, which is a beautiful bronze plaque, but rather a reproduction used because we had to go indoors due to the weather.  If you go to our "Links" page from the icon on the "Home Page" you can find opening remarks from Jim Tiner, one of our 2/9 brothers responsible for the plaque and the entire speech of our keynote speaker, LtGen Brian Beaudreault (now retired), at the time the Deputy Commandant for Plans, Policies and Operations.

Semper Fi,

Danny
